1. Who we are

This privacy policy explains how Malone Inc Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses your personal data when you use this website, adelemalone.com, and the services of Adéle Malone offered through it.

Malone Inc Limited is the data controller for your personal data. Garry Malone is our Data Protection Officer and oversees privacy matters. If you have any questions about this policy, or want to use any of your rights, please contact us.

Registered office: Rowan House, London Road East, Amersham, HP7 9DH, United Kingdom.
Email: support@adelemalone.com, or use our contact form.

Our services are for adults only. By giving us your data, you confirm that you are 18 or over. We do not knowingly provide readings to, or collect data from, anyone under 18.

Please tell us if your details change, so the data we hold stays accurate.

2. The data we collect

Personal data means any information that can identify you. It does not include anonymised data. Depending on how you use the website, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact data: your name, email address, and phone number.
  • Booking data: the reading you booked, its date and time, your time zone, and any notes you give us.
  • Transaction data: what you bought, how much you paid, and your billing details. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Communication data: anything you send us through the contact form, by email, by phone, or on social media.
  • Marketing data: whether you have signed up for our free live events or other emails, and your preferences.
  • Technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, and similar information that your device sends when it loads a web page.

Sensitive information shared in readings

Because of the nature of mediumship, you may choose to share information about bereavement, loved ones who have passed, your emotional wellbeing, your health, or your spiritual or religious beliefs. Some of this is special category data under UK data protection law.

We do not ask you for this information. If you share it, we use it only to give you the reading you asked for, treat it in confidence, and rely on your explicit consent to do so. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

We do not collect data about criminal convictions or offences.

3. How we collect your data

  • Directly from you, when you book a reading, pay, fill in a form, sign up for live events, or contact us.
  • Automatically, when your browser loads our pages. See our cookie policy.
  • From our service providers, for example payment confirmations from Stripe or PayPal.

5. Free live events and marketing emails

If you sign up for our free live events, we ask you to confirm your email address before we add you to the list (this is called double opt-in). We then email you about upcoming live demonstrations and related news.

Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time by emailing support@adelemalone.com. Unsubscribing does not affect emails about a reading you have booked.

We never sell your data, and we never share it with anyone else for their own marketing.

6. Who we share your data with

We share your data only with the service providers we need to run the website and our services, and only as much as they need. They act on our instructions and must keep your data secure.

  • Systeme.io (France): hosts this website and runs our booking calendar, checkout, forms, contact records, and emails.
  • Stripe and PayPal: process your payments securely. They are responsible for your card and account details.
  • Google: Adéle's calendar, Gmail, and Google Meet for video readings and free live events. Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google. Our contact and free live events forms use Google reCAPTCHA to block spam and automated abuse: it collects information about your device and how you use the page, sends it to Google for analysis, and sets a security cookie. Google’s privacy policy and terms apply.
  • Cloudflare: manages our domain and forwards email sent to our adelemalone.com addresses.
  • Our professional advisers, such as accountants, lawyers, and insurers, where needed.
  • Government bodies or regulators, where the law requires it.
  • A buyer or successor, if our business or part of it is sold or merged.

7. International transfers

Some of our providers store or process data outside the UK, for example in the European Economic Area or the United States. When that happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as a UK adequacy decision, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Live events and recordings

Our free live events take place on Google Meet. Other people at the event can see the name you join with, and your camera image and voice if you turn them on. You are welcome to join with your camera and microphone off.

We do not record live events or one to one readings. You must not record a reading or event without Adéle's agreement.

9. How long we keep your data

We keep your data only for as long as we need it.

  • Booking and transaction records: six years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as UK tax law requires.
  • Messages you send us: up to two years after our last contact, unless they relate to a booking.
  • Marketing list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.

Where possible, we anonymise data so it can no longer identify you.

10. Keeping your data secure

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. Only people who need your data for our business can see it, and they must keep it confidential.

If there is a data breach that is likely to put you at risk, we will tell you and the Information Commissioner’s Office where the law requires it.

11. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the data we hold about you
  • ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete
  • ask us to delete your data
  • ask us to restrict how we use your data
  • object to how we use your data
  • ask us to transfer your data to you or another organisation
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent

To use any of these rights, email support@adelemalone.com. There is usually no charge, and we aim to reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

12. Links to other websites

Our website links to other sites, such as the Reiki Healing Association. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their privacy policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
